The Mayor of Helsinki Jan Vapaavuori who is the first foreign visitor of Tallinn Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart will be in Tallinn for a two-day visit starting tomorrow.

After becoming the Mayor of Tallinn, this is Kõlvart’s first meeting with the mayor of our nearest sister city which makes it special.
The two Mayors meet on 23 April over an informal dinner to discuss the current situation and future perspectives of the cooperation between the cities.
The official meeting to be held on 24 April at 10:40 in the session room of the Tallinn City Government will focus on the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two cities on 29 May 2018 in Helsinki. The current status of implementing the 2018-2019 Operational Programme relating to the Memorandum will be another agenda item. The main focus will be on projects aimed at improving the cross-border mobility of individuals and goods between Tallinn and Helsinki.
At the end of the meeting, presumably at 11:15-11:30 there will be a press briefing where the Mayors will answer questions from journalists. The meeting and the briefing will be in English.
