Outdoor premises of Tallinn Zoo will be opened for visitors May 19

The Tallinn Zoo will be reopened in phases in order to ensure possibility of visiting the premises safely. The outdoor areas will be accessible from tomorrow, 19 May. The zoo follows the recommendations of the Health Board and the city of Tallinn, this means that the 2+2 rule must be followed and measures of händ hygiene followed.

From Tuesday, May 19, the zoo's outdoor area, cafes and souvenir shop will be open again. "Houses of tropical animals and pachyderms open on June 2. The Children's Zoo will remain closed for the time being and the traditional celebrations of Children’s Day will not take place at the zoo on June 1 this year, " said Deputy Mayor Kalle Klandorf. "However, when visiting the zoo, certain rules must be followed. By keeping a safe distance and complying with hygiene rules, we ensure maintaining the health of ourselves, our visitors and the animals there, ” noted Klandorf.

The visitors have to follow additional safety rules. Hands can be disinfected at entrances and near the toilets, customer service staff wear masks or visors, and frequently touched surfaces are disinfected regularly. As small barrows are not available, it is recommended that visitors with young children bring their own prams or other suitable items for moving around on the premises of the zoo comfortably. It is also worth keeping in mind that children over 115 cm cannot enter the zoo with scooters and bicycles.

The 2+2 rule applies everywhere in the country, and also in the zoo, it is also necessary to avoid touching the protective glasses and fences of the pens. Visitors must follow all established rules, this is the only way the zoo can keep its gates open safely.

The zoo is open every day. The ticket offices are open from 9 am to 6 pm and you can stay in the zoo until 8 pm. Tickets can be purchased at self-service and regular checkouts. Regular prices apply. The validity of annual passes and gift cards is extended by two months. Monthly passes purchased in March are valid until June 18. Parking must be paid for and the parking ticket validated at the  with the ticket purchase.
