Tallinn offers free public transport for everyone regardless of the municipality where they are registered until May 31. After that, the ticket controls will resume and so will the obligation to validate your Ühiskaart on board the vehicle.
Deputy Mayor Andrei Novikov noted that Tallinn deemed necessary the temporary halting of ticket controls and sales, this allowed to minimize the contacts between passengers on board. „As of June 1, the previous rules will resume, tickets must be validated and the ticket controls will also resume. This means, that the passengers who do not have the right for free ride, must buy a ticket starting from June,“ added Novikov.
In addition, the Aegna island’s ship route will start June 1 as well. The Deputy Mayor said that the preparations are under way to make sure that the crossings are as safe as possible for both the passengers and the crew on board. In total, 210 trips are planned for the season.
