The beach cleaning bee, to be held on Stroomi Beach, Tallinn, is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Finland

The beach cleaning bee “Clean Beach”, starting at 10:30 on 29 April, is organised within the framework of maintenance month in Northern Tallinn, on Stroomi Beach. The cleaning bee is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Finland.

The cleaning bee is being organised in cooperation with the cities of Helsinki, Turku and St Petersburg. Participants in the cleaning bee will be issued badges bearing the symbols of the 100th anniversary of Finland and Estonia (enclosed). In addition to the cleaning bee, a grand concert will also be held.

Tallinn’s spring maintenance month, to be held for the 26th time, is starting a bit earlier this year, on 7 April, and will last for one and a half months.

Arvo Sarapuu, Deputy Mayor of Tallinn, is convinced that together with the residents the city will definitely receive a coat of shine during maintenance month.

“On 7 April, maintenance month will kick-off on the wasteland in Lasnamäe, next to Pae Park, with participants including workers from the City Government, city departments and city districts,” said Sarapuu, who added that maintenance month is not a one-off action but an event with long-standing traditions, since cleanliness is the common will and lifestyle of the city and citizens of Tallinn.
