Construction work at the intersections of Reidi tee/Uus-Sadama and Reidi tee/Russalka have a reached a phase where traffic arrangements change in a matter of hours rather than days. Drivers who are follow their routine routes should be pay particular attention to temporary road signs in Reidi tee area.
According to Deputy Mayor of Tallinn Andrei Novikov, this week's traffic changes will not be the last ones at Reidi tee. “There will be several further changes in Reidi tee area in September. Try to take it easy, avoid hurrying and pay attention to road signs,” recommended the Deputy Mayor.
The first traffic changes will be implemented at the intersection of Narva maantee/Pronksi tänav starting from 22:00 on Thursday, 5 September. Following said changes at the intersection, drivers can go from Jõe tänav to Mere puiestee and Lootsi tänav. Also, traffic flows from Mere puiestee via Jõe tänav to the intersection of Narva maantee/Pronksi tänav and Lootsi tänav will be allowed.
The downtown section of Narva maantee will be blacktopped between 10:00 and 16:00 on Friday, 6 September which means that only 1+1 lanes are open for traffic between the “Must luik” shopping centre and the Russalka monument. 2+2 lanes will be open during the evening rush hour.
The Russalka intersection will be blacktopped on 7-8 September starting from 7:00 in the morning. Therefore, only 1+1 lanes will be open for traffic on the section between the “Must luik” shopping centre and Vana-Pirita tee.
Starting from 22:00 on Sunday, 8 September, drivers can exit the port via the intersection of Pikksilma tänav/Reidi tee and continue along the newly constructed Reidi tee up to Russalka intersection where they can head towards Lasnamäe, Pirita or the centre.
Uus-Sadama intersection will be closed between the morning and evening rush hours on Monday, 9 September as the last layer of asphalt is laid on Uus-Sadama tänav. Traffic will resume by the evening rush hour.
The section of Uus-Sadama tänav between Tuukri tänav and Uus-Sadama 19 will be available for port-bound traffic only (one way) as from the evening of Monday, 9 September. The section of Petrooleumi tänav between the entrance of terminal D and Tuukri tänav will be closed for traffic. The port can be exited via Lootsi tänav (for centre-bound vehicles) or via the intersection of Pikksilma tänav/Reidi tee by continuing along the newly constructed Reidi tee up to Russalka intersection where drivers can head towards Lasnamäe, Pirita or the centre.
