Cluster overview:
Estonian Film Industry Cluster (Estonian Film Commission) is a public entity that aims at marketing Estonia as an undiscovered European film location to foreign producers, focusing on low to mid-budget film and TV productions from Europe, Russia and Asia.
Looking for:
Estonian film industry is looking cooperation with education sector (in order to train more film professionals) and IT-sector (games, apps, cloud servers for post-production and distribution).
Competence fields:
- finding co-production possibilities for the Estonian film industry, selling services in the audiovisual sector (primarily commercials and post-productions, but also animation and feature film production);
- markting Estonia as a film production country via www.filmestonia.eu website (locations database, directory of producers and service providers, general information regarding services and financing possibilities);
- attending foreign markets, primarily European Film Market at Berlin International Film Festival and Marché du Film at Cannes Film Festival to sell Estonian films and services;
- co-organizing events in the audiovisual sector, incl. cooperation with Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and the film market Baltic Event;
Cluster members:
17 companies, among whom there are producers (feature and documentary films, TV programmes and series, commercials etc.), post-production studios (both picture and sound post-production), animation studios and film event organizers.
