Tallinn ranks 24th out of 82 cities when it comes to the best and worst places to live and work in. With this result, Tallinn placed on a higher spot than other Nordic capitals which participated in the survey – Oslo (46th), Helsinki (47th), Stockholm (66th) and Copenhagen (67th). This is according to the Expat Insider Report which shed light on the best and worst countries to live in right now.
Tallinn got a high-ranking position thanks to a high quality of
public transport (94% of the respondents were happy with it),
good environment with 89 percent of respondents satisfied with
this factor, and great working life, according to the survey.
In addition to the logistical aspects of life, many of the
expats found that Tallinn is generally an affordable place to

Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore. According to the study,
the best European city to live in for expats was Lisbon (6th)
closely followed by Barcelona (7th). As previously mentioned,
Tallinn secured the top place among Nordic countries!
In its sixth year, Expat Insider was a survey conducted by
InterNations, the world’s largest expat community with 3.6
million members. With over 20,000 respondents, the survey has
gathered extensive insights into people living and working
abroad in 82 destinations. A total of 25,259 expats
