Renovating the Pirita beach forest training grounds (Pirita1)

Training grounds in Pirita beach forest with a seascape and the town panorama! Proposal to renovate the training grounds in the beach forest and replace depreciated training equipment. The Pirita beach area and the illuminated beach promenade are popular training locations for athletes, and the grounds are used by both athletes and holiday-goers. The training grounds being located in a picturesque beach forest with a beautiful seascape also adds an emotional aspect to the training.

Inventory with USB charging sockets in the public space (Pirita2)

Charging options in the city help you to work with your computer in fresh air or charge your mobile phone, if necessary. Light electric vehicles are becoming increasingly popular and often need to be recharged. Being able to do this will help reduce the number of cars on the roads and in car parks, as people from all over the city come here for the holidays. If someone chooses an alternative means of transport to cars, everyone will benefit.

Developing the fitness campuses of Pirita Health Trail (Pirita3)

The Pirita Health Trail originally had three fitness campuses. Two of them have gotten a makeover and are widely used on a daily basis. We wish to restore the fitness campus of Lükat, which is now depreciated. Lükati Meadow is located in the middle of Pirita Fitness Trail and would be a suitable location for a good outdoor gym. The plan is to take the fitness campus to the next level: in addition to the street training power plant, we would like to place various training machines which have weight-adjustment functionality there. The training machines are designed to work in our climate and are suitable and affordable for children and the elderly alike. As it would be possible to enable access to the fitness campus for people with reduced mobility, this target group could also be taken into consideration when choosing training machines. There is already a street workout power plant in the fitness campus near Pirita Sports Centre and I would like to supplement this fitness campus with the training machines mentioned above.

Musical instruments for open air areas (Pirita5)

Nature and music are closely intertwined and combining the therapeutic effects of being outdoors with the healing energy of music can enrich the senses and offer a great alternative to sports. The plan is to install musical instruments in the yard on which anyone interested can create sounds and develop their musical ideas while enjoying the fresh air. Location at Lillepi Park, near the children’s playground. pirita.myportfolio.com

Renovating the lighting on Pirita Health Trail (transitioning to LEDs) (Pirita7)

Pirita Health Trail is a popular health trail all year round for exercise, sports and recreation. The trail is used at least 450,000 times per year. However, it would be even more convenient, pleasant and safer to use if obsolete bulbs could be replaced with new LED bulbs. From autumn to spring, people mainly use the trails when it’s dim or dark and upgrading the lighting would certainly make all of its users happy. The proposal is to start with changing the lighting on the 3.5 km lap, which is located in the area from Pirita Sports Centre to the bridge and back.

Weatherproof equipment on Pirita Beach all year round (Pirita8)

The number of benches on Pirita Beach will be reduced when the summer season is over, but old people would also like to rest during the winter. There are many strollers on the beach, including children and the elderly who wish to have resting opportunities. It is useful to disperse people to prevent the spread of COVID, so the beach should have more benches throughout the year. Located on Pirita Beach.

Pirita-Kose community stage (Pirita15)

Proposal to create a community meet-up location in Pirita Kose Park, which would make for good shelter in nature. Preferably, there should be a wooden stage in the park, as in the Priisle area in Lasnamägi, but slightly larger.

Green area in Pirita with light therapy (Pirita17)

Proposal to create a green area with light therapy in Pirita or to develop an existing area near Pirita Recreational Centre for this purpose. To do this, benches should be installed and the green area should be equipped with LED lighting with a light intensity of at least 10,000 lumens. There is a certain number of people here who can’t stay in the dark for too long and grow stressed. The green area should be in a location which is safe, can be passed through easily and reduces the risk of noisy gatherings. The area should be comfortable and illuminated even at night so people can even read books outside. Located near Merivälja 3.

Constructing a diverse school park in the yard of Pirita Secondary School (Pirita18)

What if every student of Pirita Secondary School was enthralled by the idea of going to school every day, getting smarter and building strong friendships because the school territory is so inspiring to them? This can be made possible by creating a modern and versatile yard area on the school premises that facilitates physical activity and outdoor learning with bike/scooter tracks, climbing attractions, seating areas (which could also be used for outdoor learning/eating lunch), a map and multiplication table on the asphalt and more. This would provide a good opportunity to communicate with one another after school, to establish and strengthen friendships and to encourage people to stay in the fresh air while consolidating what they have learned at school (e.g. the map and multiplication table). Examples from around the world: http://www.schoolyards.org/gallery.BeforeAndAfterPhotos.php

Street libraries in Mähe (Pirita20)

There is no such thing as a book you can’t learn something good from (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe). Book exchange points on the streets are gaining popularity all over the world and we can already find examples of them here in Estonia, too: Löwenruh Park in Tallinn, Onion Road by Lake Pepsi, Tähtvere in Tartu and so on. This is an international movement called Little Free Library, which started in Wisconsin, USA, in 2009. Today, more than 20 countries have joined this network and the nearest street library to us is located in Lithuania. It is a community-based initiative that aims to promote reading among children and adults. Street libraries don’t compete with local libraries but expand the boundaries of reading and give local people additional opportunities to communicate and share reading material. Possible locations include Mähe Recreational Centre and Randvere Road

Lockers on Pirita Beach (Pirita21)

Constructing a dog playground in Pirita-Kose (Pirita25)

The small and large dogs of Pirita-Kose want a dog kennel where they can expend their energy in a friendly way and the owners can let their pets free with peace of mind. As a result of this, there would also be fewer dogs on the streets.

Safer road for descent for people with reduced mobility at 1 Lükati Road (Pirita31)

It is very important to connect the fitness trails with Kose Road so that people in prams and wheelchairs can access Lükati Bridge from Kose Street safely. Currently, the only way to get there with a pram is to walk on the motorway. It would also be good to build a pedestrian crossing on Lükati Street because to get to the other side you have to make three crossings (twice over Kose Road and once over Purde Road).
