Tallinn is one of the four finalists running for the title of the European Green Capital Award 2022. We are launching a public survey to further develop the environmentally friendly function of the Ühiskaart.
Right now, Ühiskaart, or the „green card“ is mainly used as a ticket validation card in public transportation. Our aim is to create a green reward system for environmentally friendly behaviour. Similar to private sector´s (e.g airlines’ and shipping companies’) loyalty programs.
The created system will award green points to a personalized Ühiskaart for environmentally friendly behaviour. The collected points can be redeemed for a discount from the services of the city system.
For example - points can be collected from validating your ride in public transportat, using bicycle parking stations and hopefully in the future also for recycling, ordering tap water in restaurants or for walking.
Points can be used to receive discounts on different services of institutions belonging to the city system (swimming pools, gyms, tickets of cultural institutions), or for reducing the monthly for a kindergarten or hobby group fee.
The aim of the public survey is to see whether the proposed system would encourage citizens to engage in environmentally friendly behaviour. Furthermore, to understand where people would like to get the points and where to spend them.
The survey is active until midnight of September 16.
