Tallinn and Dubai leaders discussed smart city solutions

On Tuesday, January 11, Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart met with Director General of Dubai Municipaliy, Sheikh Dawood Rahman Al-Hajr to discuss the smart city concept and e-solutions, as well as Tallinn as the next European Green Capital.

"The Tallinn delegation is attending the Dubai Expo specifically to present smart city e-solutions, and we are also focusing on these topics with the Director General of Dubai. Sustainable urban management is a challenge that all cities face and is also part of Dubai's vision, so the meeting focuses on Tallinn's objectives as the European Green Capital in 2023," said Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart.

"Tallinn has been voted by ICF as the most intelligent community in 2020, we have been selected as one of the top three European Capitals of Innovation and Tallinn is ranked in the top 12 of the world's smartest cities by the Eden Strategy Institute - these are the circumstances that we can build on to offer cooperation to Dubai," Kõlvart added.

The meeting between Mayor Kõlvart and Sheikh Dawood Rahman Al-Hajri is part of Tallinn's visit to Dubai Expo.
