Deputy Mayor Vadim Belobrovtsev noted that although the city's museums are traditionally closed on Mondays, it was decided to make an exception on Children’s Day. “For the special day, we wanted to make a nice gift for everyone in cooperation with the Tallinn City Museum and the Botanical Garden. What could be better for children than an interesting and meaningful time spent with parents, which provides positive emotions to the whole family, „said Belobrovtsev. "Children can rejoice on reopening its doors on June 1 after a long break. The Botanic Garden allows us to enjoy the beauty of spring blooms. ”
Tallinn City Museum, Children's Museum Miiamilla, Kiek in de Kök fortifications and the bastion passages offer a special programme meant for children and adults.
The tower of Kiek in de Kök and the passages (Komandandi road 2), a museum tour will take place 1pm and 4pm (in Estonian and Russian). Medieval games are showcased and played from 2pm-3.30pm next to the tower. Many already long forgotten games can be tried out.
The City Museum (Vene 17) welcomes visitors from noon to 5pm with interesting exhibitions and a special search-and-find came is also awaiting for players! Those keen on animals will find out, what animal it was that came to live in Tallinn along with the Danish king Valdemar II.
Outdoor fun awaits in the Children's Museum Miiamilla (Koidula 21c). 12-12.30, games for 2-5 year olds are planned, 12.30-13 for 5-7 year olds and from 2pm-3pm for 8-18 year olds. 3pm-3.45 games for adults also take place. Starting from June 2, the museum is open as usual.
The Botanic Garden is open from 10am-7pm. In the Palm House, which is the central part of the greenhouse complex, renovations are under way but the other greenhouses are open as well as the outdoor premises of the compound.
Children up to 18 can Access the museums and the Botanic Garden for free, the ticket for adult is 1 euro.
