New concert series „Kooskõla“ („Harmony“) starts January 29th with a concert „A nagu Amor“ („A like Amor“) at the Tallinn Philharmonic Society House of Blackheads. With the concert, mixed chorus K.O.O.R celebrates its’ 8th birthday. Entrance is free.
Last year, the Tallinn Culture Department, the Tallinn Philharmonic Society and the Estonian Choral Association signed a co-operation agreement and launched the concert series "Kooskõla". According to Aini Härm, Culture Department, such a series of choral concerts was still missing from the diverse program of the philharmonic. “Good cooperation with the Choral Association enables us to bring excellent and unique choirs of Tallinn to the audience and thus enrich the cultural calendar of the capital,” Härm added.
The concert "A Like Amor" will feature works by the beloved composer Mari Amor, including a premiere of her cycle on lyrics by Valdur Mikita. Guest performers include tenor Mati Turi and pianist Martti Raide. The concert will be conducted by Mr. Raul Talmar.
10 concerts are planned to take place in the Tallinn Philharmonic Society House of Blackheads in 2020. The performing choirs are chosen by the Music Council of the Estonian Choral Association.
Concerts „A like Amor“ will also take place in Keila (January 31st) and Viljandi (February 1st).
