Renovated building of Tallinn Vital Statistics Department is open to newlyweds again

The building of the Tallinn Vital Statistics Department colloquially known as the Chapel of Love was opened to visitors on Monday, 15 April.

The renovation works which began last autumn at Pärnu mnt 67 are about to be completed. The old building which is declared an architectural monument underwent extensive repair work with renovators facing a few surprises down the road as restrictions and requirements established by the National Heritage Board had to be taken into account. The building got new electrical and heating systems and a remodelled interior, incl. new wall decorations and restored lighting fixtures and furniture.
