According to the population register, there were 443,268 people living in the capital as of the morning of 1 October, with the population growing by 1307 people during the month of September.
From the beginning of the year, the population of the capital has grown by 3751 people, with the population of the City Centre growing the most – by 1499 people. In August, the population of Tallinn increased by 604 people.
In the course of the past year, the population of Tallinn grew by 5091 people, including a record 1386 people in the month of September. As for city districts, the population of the City Centre and Mustamäe districts grew the most last year – by 1928 and 1069 residents, respectively.
As of 1 January 2015, there were 434,426 people living in Tallinn. When compared to 2014, the increase was slightly bigger this year – as the year before last, the population of the capital grew by 4527 people.
In 2013 the population of Tallinn grew by a record 10,069 people, with 419,830 people living in the capital as at the beginning of the year, and the number reaching 429,899 people by 1 January 2014.
From the beginning of 2012, the population of the capital has grown by 27,124 people or 6.5% – as of 1 January 2012, there were 416,144 people living in Tallinn, according to the population register.
