The Ironman triathlon requires traffic and public transport reorganizations

With the Ironman triathlon and related events, there will be several street closures, parking restrictions, and changes to public transport traffic and schedules on Saturday and Sunday, August 6 and 7.

To a lesser extent, changes will also take place on August 4 and 5. Detailed traffic information is available on the website of the triathlon organizers: https://triatloniakadeemia.ee/liiklus

Saturday and Sunday, 6-7 on August, bus line 62 and tram lines 1 and 2 will stop working, and bus lines No. 2, 3, 20A, 21, 21B, 27, 33, 36, 37, 40, 41, 41B, 59, 61, 66 and 73 will be diverted. Temporary bus lines are operating: Hobujaama - Kalaranna and Oja tee - Harkujärve. Tram lines 1 and 2 will be suspended on Saturday, August 6 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. and on Sunday, August 7 from 11:50 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Tram lines 1 and 2, detoured bus lines and bus line 72 operate with a free schedule on both days. On Thursday, August 4, from 20:00 to 21:00, Kalaranna street in the section between Kalasadama street and Vesilennuki street and Kalasadama street in the section between Kursi street and Kalaranna street will be closed to traffic. Staapli street is closed the same evening from 20:15 to 21:00. Access is guaranteed for the transport of residents and institutions, as well as for operational vehicles.

On Friday, August 5, from 18:00 to 19:30, the biking roads of Kalaranna Street will be closed to traffic.

In Haabersti, the section of Sõudebaasi road and Pikaliiva street between Keskküla street and Paldiski road is closed to traffic from Friday, August 5 p.m. until Sunday, August 7 at 12:30 p.m. Residents' transport can access the rowing base road with a permit.

The following roads, streets, and intersections are closed to traffic on Saturday and Sunday, August 6 and 7 (more information on the traffic management changes map here):

In the city center
Raekoja plats, Vana Turg, Vanaturu kael, Viru street, Kuninga street, Kullassepa street, Kanuti street, and the section of Aia street on the section between Viru and Kanuti streets from Saturday, August 6th at 9:00 a.m. to Sunday, August 7th at 7:00 p.m.

North Tallinn and Central Tallinn
• Section of Kalasadama Street between Kalaranna Street and Põhja Boulevard, Section of Põhja Boulevard in the section between Soo Street and Kursi Street, Suur-Rannavärava Street, Section of Mere Boulevard between Suur-Rannavärava Street and Ahtri Street, Section of Rannamäe Road in the section between Kanuti Street and Suurtüki Street and Suur Rannavärav on August 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m, and on August 7 from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Section of Tööstuse Street between Kalaranna Street and Sitsi Street, Sitsi Street, Pelguranna Street, Sõle Street, one lane in each direction of Sitsi Street and Kopli Street
between Kopli, Sõle, and Pelguranna street intersection, one lane in each direction, and the cycling road on Lahepea street on Saturday, August 6 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday, August 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Lennusadama Street from Saturday, August 6 at 10:30 a.m. to Sunday, August 7 at 4:00 p.m.
Peetri Street sidewalk and Staapli Street bike road from Saturday, August 6 at 9:00 a.m. to Sunday, August 7 at 7:00 p.m.
Kalaranna street bike roads from Saturday, August 6 from 9:00 a.m. to Sunday, August 7 until 7:00 p.m.
Paldiski road section between Lahepea street and Ehitajate road on Saturday, August 6 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sunday, August 7 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

In Haabersti
Paldiski road section between Ehitajate road and Astangu street and the exit from the Paldiski road, Ehitajate road, and Rannamõisa road roundabout in the direction of Paldiski on Saturday, August 6 from 4:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday, August 7, 2021, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Between Õismäe tee and Mäeküla tee, one lane is open to public transport in each direction. Access to K-Rauta store and Inchcape Motors with traffic controllers;
Paldiski road section between Lahepea street and Ehitajate road on Saturday, August 6 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sunday, August 7 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Paldiski road section between Astangu street and Tähetorni street on Saturday, August 6 from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sunday, August 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Lahepea street cycling roads in Merimetsa from Saturday, August 6 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday, August 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• The section of Pikaliiva Street from Keskküla Street to Paldiski Road and Sõudebaasi Street (except for residents with a permit) from Friday, August 5 at 12:00 p.m. to Sunday, August 7 at 12:30 p.m.

Parking is prohibited
• In the city center, on the section of Aia street between Viru and Kanuti streets on Saturday, August 6, from midnight to 7:00 a.m. (00:00-07:00).
• In North Tallinn, on Pelguranna street, from Saturday, August 6 at 00:00 until Sunday, August 7 at 4:00 p.m.
• Haabersti on Sõudebaasi street from Friday, August 5 at 00:00 until Sunday, August 7 at 12:30.
