Winter sports activities in Tallinn

Winter season in the capital offers several fun sporting activities. This year's ice rinks and skiing trails in Tallinn are already open or about to be open in almost every city district, so no resident of Tallinn should miss the winter pleasures. Visit the ice rinks and snow slopes in the city and have fun in the skiing trails! 

Ice skaters


Skating in Tallinn

Outdoor ice rinks are open in Pirita, on Harju street, in Nõmme, Mustamäe, Tondiraba park, Lasnamäe skate rink and for training Pirita outdoor hockey rink. Temporary skate park is open on Stroomi beach!

Pirita Sport Center's Ice Rink 
The ice rink is situated next to the river Pirita, behind the house of Pirita Sport Center, Rummu tee 3. Depending on the weather conditions, the ice rink is every day open from 10 am to 10 pm, entrance until 9 pm. Skating (1 hour on the ice): 4 Euros, skate rental: 3-4 Euros

Harju St Ice Rink
Harju tn 32. Open every day from 10 am to 10 pm, skating (1 hour on the ice): 5-9 Euros, skate rental (1 hour) 4-8 Euros. Family card gives -50% (excluding seasonal card and extras). Schools can register online.

Nõmme ice skating park 
Raudtee tn 73 (Nõmme Gymnasium school yard). Ice skating park with a refridgeration system, open Mon-Thu 10am-9pm and Fri-Sun 10am-10pm, regardless of weather, until the middle of March. Ticket (1 hour): 4-8 euros, skate rental (1 hour): 4-8 euros. Family card gives -50% off.

Mustamäe ice skating park  
Männi park, Keskuse 1. Ice skating park with a refridgeration system, open open Mon-Thu 10am-9pm and Fri-Sun 10am-10pm, regardless of weather, until the middle of March. Ticket (1 hour): 4-8 euros, skate rental (1 hour): 4-8 euros. Family card gives -50% off.

Lasnamäe ice skating park
Tondiraba park, Varraku 18. Ice skating park with a refridgeration system, open Mon-Thu 10am-9pm and Fri-Sun 10am-10pm, regardless of weather, until the middle of March. Ticket (1 hour): 4-8 euros, skate rental (1 hour): 4-8 euros. Family card gives -50% off.

Lasnamäe speed skating track
Lasnamägi Sports Games Hall, J. Koorti 25. Speed skating track length: 400 m x width: 10 m. To see availability, check here. Ticket (1 hour): 4 euros, skate rental: 3-5 euros.

Hockey playersPirita Sports Centre hockey rink
Hockey rink (41,7 x 20,1 m) is located by the river right beside the skating rink. Information and training scheduling via phone 55597080, e-mail [email protected]. Hockey rink usage price for groups: 1 hour – 61 euros, for sports schools and sport clubs: 1 hour – 44 euros.

Tondiraba Ice Hall 
Varraku tn 14. See also free ice hours from the schedule. Skating for a regular user (1 hour on the ice): 4-6 euros, family ticket: 20 euros, skate rental 2,5-3 euros.

Jeti Ice Hall
Suur-Sõjamäe 14B. See availability from the schedule. Skating for a regular user (1 hour on the ice): 7-9 euros, skate rental 4-8 euros. Family card gives -50% off tickets and skate rental.

Haabersti Ice Hall
Haabersti street 3. See availability from the schedule. Skating for a regular user (1 hour on the ice): 4-6 euros, family ticket 18-22 euros, skate rental: 2-3 euros.

Pirita illuminated health trails 3,8 km, 3,4 km, 7,2 km
Tracks are illuminated until 11 pm. Ski rental at the Pirita Recreational Sports Centre is available every day from 10 am to 10 pm. The rental of ski set (skiis, boots, poles) 4 Euros, pre-school-age children, pupils, students, pensioners 2,5 euros. Bathing and dressing facilities available at Pirita Recreational Sports Centre every day from 8 am to 10 pm. Nõmme-Harku Health Trail 1 km, 2 km, 3 km, 5 km, 15 km
Ski rental is available every day from 8 am to 10 pm. The rental of ski set for 2 hours is 5 euros, pupils and pensioners 2,5 euros. Bathing and dressing facilities available at Nõmme Sports Centre every day from 8 am to 10 pm.

Merimetsa Health Trail 1 km, 2,5 km
Illuminated track, no ski rental available. 

Õismäe Raba Health Trail
Illuminated track covered with granite chippings, no ski rental available. 

Järve Health Trail 2.3 km
Tracks illuminated until 11 pm, no ski rental available.

Jüri Health Trails 1.6 km, 2.6 km and 5.2 km
Illuminated 5,2 km, no ski rental available. Bathing facilities with sauna available at the Rae Sports Centre.

Saku Health Trail 0.7 km, 2 km, 3.5 km, 7 km
Illuminated trail 2,7 km, no ski rental available. 

Saue Sarapiku Health Trail 1.3 km
Illuminated trail , no ski rental available.

Keila Health trails 3 km, 4 km, 5 km and 7.5 km
Illuminated trail 3 km, no ski rental available.

Rohuneeme Health Trail 1-5 km
Non-illuminated, no ski rental available. 

Karulaugu Health Trail  2,6 km
Illuminated trail, no ski rental available. 

Tädu Health Trail  500 m, 2,1 km, 2,6 km 
Illuminated trail, no ski rental available. 

Tabasalu Health Trail 1 km, 2 km, 3 km, 5 km and 15 km
Illuminated track: 3km (the section near the Tabasalu-Muraste non-motorised traffic route). No ski rental available.

Pirita Sports Center's Sledge Hill  
Rummu tee 3. Free children's sledge hill, bring your own sledge.

Nõmme Snow Park   
Vana-Mustamäe 16. Open: Mon-Fri 10 am – 9 pm, Sat-Sun 10 am – 7 pm. Three slopes with elevators to have fun with a snowboard or mountain skis. Ticket depending on the area from 12 to 18 euros, the rental of the equipment from 10 to 16 Euros. 

Viimsi Hill Park VIMKA
Randvere tee 30. Slope for different level of mountain sports enthusiasts ranging from beginners to advance skiers or snowboard riders, snowtubing, ski school. Ticket information here, equipment rental available.

Other nearby illuminated snow slopes are at the starting point of the Jüri Health Tracks and Keila Tankimägi hill.

In good snow conditions there is always a possibility to use other various hills around the city, see map here.

NB! To ensure everyone has a good time ejoying winter activities, please respect everyone and do not forget safety!

There are various ways to enjoy active wintertime. One of such family friendly sport activities is discgolf. Check out discgolf tracks and and their terms and conditions on website discgolfirajad.ee.

During wintertime it's the winter swimming season at the Nõmme Sports Centre. Pool ticket is 1,5 euros, sauna costs extra. More info at website sportkeskus.ee
